Bandera Review & Summary:
Bandera Restaurant is a small chain of quality restaurants specializing in Spanish/American style cuisine with 1 location in California. We’re lucky enough to have that location in Sacramento. Bandera is in my top ten restaurants because of the great ambiance (dimly lit and full of deep rich colors), top quality food and flavors, and affordable prices. This would be a great place for a date. The staff are always on top of their game and are very courteous and attentive!
Be sure that when you plan to visit Bandera, that you get a reservation as this place packs in every single night. Wait times can be very long (this tells you its a great place to be). The bar is very nice and placed in the middle of the restaurant, and from this location, you can also watch the chefs prepare the meals in the back part of the restaurant. This made for great conversation as we watched all sorts of great food get served. As for the food, everything we ordered was flavorful, terrific, and without flaw. You’ll find each meat entree cooked to perfection, including my favorites of roasted chicken, steak and enchilada patter, and the beef ribs. Even with all that, the “star” of the Bandera menu, is one of their appetizers… its the Jalapeno, cheese, skillet cornbread! Let me tell you, this isn’t your grandma’s cornbread! This is the moistest, flavorful cornbread ever! Its a must try…. My recommendation is to make your next special night out at Bandera!
