Chicago Fire Review & Summary:
I’ve first gotta say that I’m a die-hard pizza fanatic. So when someone asks me what my favorite pizza place is, its hard to say. It’s kind of like picking which child is your favorite? You can’t! But, in this case, I can undoubtedly say that Chicago Fire sits atop of the Sacramento pizza world! So, after a insider recommendation to try this place out, I had to try a couple of the locations! We started at the Folsom location on a Saturday night. Yes, the place was packed (this is what I would expect) and the parking in the old town Folsom area isn’t the easiest to navigate, but all in all, the logistics of making in there and gettting a seat wasn’t bad. With the great smells coming from the kitchen area, our mouths watered for that flavor that you can only get in Chicago! Now this place isn’t boasting a “huge” menu. I think they’ve done right by keeping the menu short and sweet. The menu consists of a limited number of appetizers, salads, desserts, drinks (including libations), and the main course.. Pizza! Although they do serve thin crust pizza, I came here for the deep dish. Its done just like in Chicago, with the full flaky crust setting high around the pan. Next is the cheese, THEN the toppings and sauce. Because this is a big pie, it’ll take a good 30+ minutes prior to digging in once you order. On this trip, I enjoyed the Chicago Fire Combo, and started things off with an “over the top” baked artichoke! If you love artichokes, I guarantee this will be the best one you’ve ever ate! …back to the pizza… Once your pizza arrives, you’ll find flavorful, gormet quality, pizza goodness! Each bite fills your mouth with the flavors of old school Chicago. This pizza left me wanting more and more, yet I had to take some home because it was so big! I do indeed love the Folsom location. The ambiance is great, the service was very pleasing, and the food/drinks absolutely hit the spot! Finally, I visited the Sacramento location on J Street. This time I ordered the stuffed pizza, and I found that same quality in all the ingredients, and true consistency with their pies (unlike chain restaurants), so rest assured that which ever location you choose, it’ll be a good choice! I also can’t forget to plug the Roseville location too, which I’ll be at soon! Make sure to visit back to Tony Eats Sacramento after you’ve tried this place to let me know what you think!
