Cool Hand Luke’s Restaurant Review & Summary:
So this was my first time visiting Cool Hand Lukes and I belive its pretty new to the area. I knew I wanted to eat there just from driving by the place (Thats a good thing). Anyways, on this cold night, we walked in and were immediately greeted. The ambience was exactly as you would imagine it to be… Saloon style with a nice warm fireplace in the bar side of the restaurant. After being seated, while checking out the menus, we ordered a couple of drinks. One drink was a soda, which is served in a large glass mason jar, and the other was a “Pretty in Pink” (alcoholic drink), which featured X-Rated fusion liquor. The 2 of us enjoyed the 12oz Steak, which was excellent, and the Coconut Shrip Stack (This was “off the hook” great). I must say, I was fairly skeptical about whether or not I was gonna leave there still hungry, but after the appetizer of sourdough rolls and campfire beans, endless soup (which they refilled twice), and the entrees, this was a great dinner! About the rolls and beans… it was quite interesting, beacause when you are seated, they automatically bring this to your table. The rolls are obvious, you grab one, butter it, and eat it… but with the beans, they’re served “campfire style” which means they are in a mini black kettle or caldron in the middle of the table… quite interestingly enough, we weren’t quite sure how to eat them. Were we both supposed to reach to the middle of the table with a spoon and eat them, or do we dip our rolls in it, or maybe we were supposed to take the spon and stuff the rolls with the beans (that’s what I did). Just seemed like they needed some directions on how to eat them. Anyways, sounds silly, but, you’ll see when you go there….Well for the 2 of us, with 1 alcoholic drink, we ended up at $51. I’m thinking this may be a litte much for the area… but still good overall.
